It Should Be Easy to Sell My Scion at School

I thought my best bet was to sell my Scion at school. The campus is a place where people need affordable economic transportation and that is what the Scion brand offers. The Scion is a division of Toyota that was intended to appeal especially to Generation Y, after they overtake the Generation X's love of the big and all-consuming non-earth-friendly vehicles. I hoped that targeting the same market that Toyota was would help me to sell my Scion.

Unveiled in 2007 the Scion was Toyota's attempt to get a corner on a market it had a hard time attracting. Being a name known not only for lasting quality but reliability and high resale values, Toyota has been able to justify the high price tags on its vehicles. However, this limits the demographics that can afford a new Toyota; thus, the Scion offers an entry-level vehicle backed by the Toyota quality at an affordable price. I was hoping that the Toyota quality would help me sell my Scion to its own target demographic.

Scion for Sale

I tried posting a sign on the community bulletin board in the library, the food court, and the local pub. I figured that any high-traffic place would be a good place to post them. I also put a big For Sale sign in the back window, so when the car was in the parking lot, it was advertising itself.

Unfortunately I was wrong in my assumption that it would be easy to sell my Scion on campus. I got a few phone calls, but college students are wishy-washy by nature, and some of them didn't even keep appointments with me to view the vehicle.

Quick Online Solution

I went back to the web, because I had done research on the Scion itself, but I had not done my research on how to sell my Scion. I found Cash4UsedCars.net which was a much better option than selling on campus. All they required was a quick online form and about half an hour to appraise my Scion, and they said they would offer me cash right then and there.

I was a tad wary of using an online service to sell anything, but I figured that it was better than any of the alternatives at this point. So when the appraiser called the house, I made the appointment to have him look at my vehicle. He showed up on time, and 30 minutes later I had cash in my hand.
