It Should Be Easy to Sell My Volvo

Volvos are known as safe family cars, and I figured it would be super easy to sell mine. My kids are grown, and the last one is about to leave for college, so I no longer need a sensible vehicle. It's time for my husband and me to sell my Volvo and get something sporty and fun.

 

My Volvo served me well during my child-rearing years. I don't care what anyone says, being a mother and wife is a full-time job, one that requires constant overtime. My Volvo made my life as easy as an automobile can. It could accommodate lots of children, as well as surfboards in the summer and snowboards in the winter. It even helped me get up to Big Bear Mountain safely with a car full of teenagers.

 

Avenues to Sell a Car

I was loath to go to a dealership. I didn't want to purchase another Volvo; I just wanted to sell my Volvo. I had my heart set on the performance of a German BMW, not the stodginess of the Swedish Volvo to drive me into my golden years.  So I eliminated the dealerships immediately. I wasn't going to fight off salesmen only to leave feeling like I got cheated.

 

I was also not interested in placing an ad anywhere and having to deal with potential buyers. My husband would end up having to do all the work, and it was my car and my responsibility to sell my Volvo. I had no desire to persuade people to buy my car. Besides, I keep hearing about cashiers check fraud, and the idea that I could sign the pink slip and not actually have the money in my hand is very discouraging.

It just so happened that my son called me from college in San Diego and was so excited because he had just used this online service to sell his car. He said that not only were they fast and easy, but they gave him cash for his car. I thought if they would give him cash for his beater, I should be able to get cash for my Volvo. 

 

Minutes later I found the web site and filled out their brief online form.  Half an hour after they knocked on my door, I had cash in my hand and the Volvo was someone else's child shuttle. BMW, here I come!
